The curriculum used is the Matatag curriculum. The Matatag curriculum in the Philippines covers 1-10 years of basic education. The program aims to provide problem solving has been considered as a goal, as a process, and as a basic skill. The processes involved in solving mathematical problems, from recognizing and understanding a problem, to modelling the problem through different representations, to planning a solution, to executing the solution, and to finally checking whether the problem has been solved, demonstrate that problem solving is a very important life skill for 21st-century citizens to possess.
The curriculum at MMSU Labrotory School emphasizes a student-centered learning process or what is usually called student-centered learning. So that in the learning process the teacher only acts as a facilitator who facilitates students to think critically, find solutions and solve problems. The things that are done must of course be based on the lesson plan that has been created so that learning activities take place in an orderly and systematic manner while also trying to make the student HOTS summoned.
