Laboratory Elementary School was established on 1919 along with its mother institution, the Laoag Normal School. The school data was only available in 1926 Laboratory Elementary School has proven to be the center of quality learning at where pupils are developed to become responsible citizens and commendable leaders in the community and country.

MMSU Laboratory High School is a vibrant institution that caters to students from grade one to grade six. The campus is very spacious, having many classrooms designed to support students in their educational journey. Each classroom is equipped with modern learning tools such as whiteboards, TV monitors, comfortable seating, and air-conditioning units, creating a cozy and conducive environment for effective learning. These features not only enhance the educational experience but also help maintain a pleasant atmosphere during the hot and humid months.
Architecturally, the school building utilizes both traditional and modern styles that make the building itself an attraction in itself. The design of the building not only showcases the local culture but there is also an artistic and creative twist to the practical construction. The use of traditional bells to signal the beginning and end of learning is also increasingly becoming a distinctive feature that adds to the traditional impression of the school.

Teaching System
The teaching system at the MMSU Labrotory School uses the student center learning method which focuses on student activity in the classroom. The teachers use the K12 curriculum. The learning process only takes place 5 days a week with the duration starting from 07:30 am. Saturday and Sunday are holidays.
This school uses a full day school system. When teachers give additional assignments, students do not complete them at home but at the next meeting. The student's task is only to prepare whatever materials are needed to complete the assignment. However, some tasks can also be done at home.
All the classrooms are conducive place of learning. Classrooms are equipped with air conditioner and ceiling fans for ventilation and luminous lamps for lightings. There are whiteboard for every classroom which are used as a substitute for a chalk board in order. It is also equipped with a state-of-the-art projector which will be used in integrating ICT on teaching and learning process. Each room is equipped with an elevated stage wherein the teacher can stay during discussion for a greater height to look after the class up to the last row at the back.
Apart from classrooms, the school also has some other key facilities. A canteen is available where students can gather and buy food or just a snack during breaks. Adjacent to the canteen is a laboratory that students can use for practicum activities.
In front of the Laboratory High School there is a field that can be used by students to conduct sports activities, besides this field is also commonly used by students to practice before participating in competitions. The field is equipped with a roof, so students do not overheat while on the field, this can increase student comfort.
The library is located next to the field. It is equipped with various educational books for research, assignments and lessons. The library serves as a place where people usually stay to learn lessons as well as obtain various lesson references.
The school clinic is located at the first floor of the high school building. The clinic serves as the whole clinic of MMSU-CTE, Laboratory High School and Laboratory Elementary. The school clinic offers medications and prescription of medicines for all the members of the MMSU Laoag family. The clinic is equipped with materials to be used for medication as well as for dental services. There is a free charge of services and consultation as well as supply of medicines.
Measurement and evaluation system in Mariano Marcos State University Laboratory Elementary School based on Matatag Curriculum. In the Philippines has two examination for measurement and evaluation there are a midterm examination and final examination. But, The teachers can give a assignment, quiz or weekly test for measure and evaluate student’s knowledge.
The curriculum used is the Matatag curriculum. The Matatag curriculum in the Philippines covers 1-10 years of basic education. The program aims to provide problem solving has been considered as a goal, as a process, and as a basic skill. The processes involved in solving mathematical problems, from recognizing and understanding a problem, to modelling the problem through different representations, to planning a solution, to executing the solution, and to finally checking whether the problem has been solved, demonstrate that problem solving is a very important life skill for 21st-century citizens to possess.
The teacher must be prepared teaching plan before the learning process. In the teaching plan must be student-centered so that learning is made creative, innovative, and fun in accordance with student characteristics.
But that's is not over yet as we still need to make a lesson plan that are not monotone, have gradual motion that focused on their analyzing and implementing the lesson we give to them in real life while also summon their higher order thinking skills.
