Planning for Teaching
I create a student-centered learning system by applying HOTS assessment but still fun for students, because it will make it easier for them to apply and analyze the material I give them. The curriculum at (insert school) emphasizes a student-centered learning process or what is usually called student-centered learning. So that in the learning process the teacher only acts as a facilitator who facilitates students to think critically, find solutions and solve problems. The things that are done must of course be based on the lesson plan that has been created so that learning activities take place in an orderly and systematic manner.
In preparing lessons, I focused on aligning the lesson objectives with the students' level of understanding. My goal was to create an engaging and interactive learning experience, so I selected materials that included visual aids, worksheets, and online resources. The adverbs of intensity and frequency lesson was structured to introduce concepts step by step, with examples that students could relate to in daily life. I also prepared supplementary exercises for students who needed more practice, ensuring that all materials were available and accessible in both physical and digital formats.
Teaching in Class
Teaching in the classroom is a dynamic experience. I start the lesson with a warm-up discussion to engage students and introduce the concept of rational equations. The lesson incorporates group activities, where students practice classifying rational expressions and rational equations problems.
I also used a collaborative learning approach, assigning each group with a specific task, and encouraging peer feedback. This method fosters a positive and interactive classroom environment, allowing students to learn through discussion and hands-on exercises. I monitored the class closely, provided guidance where needed, and made sure to involve every student in the activities.
For evaluation, I designed formative and summative assessments. During class, I observed students' participation in group discussions and their ability to categorize rational expressions and rational equations. At the end of the lesson, I gave problems to assess their understanding of the material. I also provide feedback on their work, focusing on topics that need improvement. This approach helps me gauge the effectiveness of the lesson and identify students who need further assistance.
Others
In addition to teaching, I was involved in various school activities such as the flag ceremony, which gave me a glimpse into the culture and school environment in the Philippines. This experience allowed me to interact with both students and faculty outside the classroom, fostering a deeper connection with the school community. Additionally, I maintained a blog to document my experiences, sharing daily reflections and classroom insights, which helped me analyze my teaching methods and their impact on the students.
