From the moment I arrived, what struck me most about MMSU and the people of Ilocos Norte was their incredible warmth and genuine hospitality. The faculty members, staff, local students, and even people in the community and its made me feel so welcomed and at home right away. The people in Ilocos Norte are exceptionally friendly and approachable. They greeted me with big smiles, asked about my life in Indonesia with real interest, and always offered help without hesitation—whether it was directions, food recommendations, or just a friendly chat. There was never any sense of distance or awkwardness; instead, it felt like I had instantly gained a new circle of friends.

The professors and students at MMSU, especially in the College of Teacher Education, treated me not as a "special foreigner" or outsider, but simply as one of them, a fellow student teacher, a friend, and a colleague. They included me in conversations, group activities, meals, and even casual hangouts without making me feel singled out. Their openness, kindness, and willingness to share their culture while being curious about mine created such a supportive and enjoyable environment for learning and growing. This welcoming spirit made the biggest difference during my time here. It turned what could have been a challenging adjustment into one of the most meaningful and joyful experiences of my life.
