Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) was officially established on October 24, 1981, as one of the higher education institutions under the Muhammadiyah organization. It originated from the Faculty of Education, which was initiated by figures such as Ibu Sudalmiyah Suhud Rais, Bapak Radjab Bulan Hadipurnomo, Bapak Muhammad Syafa’at Habib, Ibu Sulastri Gito Atmodjo, and K.H. Syahlan Rosyidi, who founded Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta Branch Surakarta in 1957. UMS then evolved into Muhammadiyah Institute of Education (IKIP) Surakarta and Muhammadiyah Islamic Institute (IAIM) Surakarta in the 1960s. In 1979, Drs. H.
