Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus
By Mo Willems
Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, is a great book and very engaging for the reader. For example, the first paragraph talks to us (the reader) about the bus driver needing us to watch things for him. It’s great for all ages from 1-year-olds to 1000-year-olds.
At the start of the book the bus driver asks us to watch the bus for him and says,”Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!”
The pigeon says, “I thought he’d never leave. Can I drive the bus?” And the pigeon continuously persuades us to drive the bus, but the driver comes back and thanks us for not letting the pigeon drive the bus.
It’s a very short story, it only takes a few minutes to read depending on your reading level. The size of the text is very large and great for new readers and has some good words for 6 to 9-year-olds
Mo Willems has written several of the pigeon series and a couple of other books like the ones listed here
