We study pathways toward low-carbon energy systems, renewable energy integration, electricity demand, and system planning. Our models examine renewable variability, energy storage, backup capacity, and power system reliability.
We develop models for food production, inventory, distribution, and cold chains. A central question is how to reduce food losses while managing the energy use, costs, and carbon emissions of refrigerated logistics.
Our work explores resource efficiency, waste recovery, and sustainable production and consumption. We examine how analytical methods and artificial intelligence can improve the use of resources across interconnected systems.
Our research combines operations research, mathematical programming, multi-objective optimization, soft computing, evolutionary computation, and decision-making under uncertainty.
