本研究室成立於2020年夏天的中原大學,徐昕煒 博士承襲其在東海大學成立的「食品流通與永續發展研究室」及過往博士班時期恩師王小璠老師的「 柔性演算與模糊最佳化研究室」,並結合與傳承過往在「綠色供應鏈」的研究,延續工研院工作的「能源政策」經驗,結合「食品永續」的主軸,以S2 > (S+S)的信念,將柔性計算應用於永續決策,故成立「永續決策與柔性計算實驗室」。實驗室並於2023年2月搬遷至至國立臺北科技大學。
The Sustainable Decision and Soft Computing Laboratory was established in the summer of 2020 at Chung Yuan Christian University. Dr. Hsin-Wei Hsu founded the lab, building upon the foundation of his previous Food Circulation and Sustainable Development Laboratory at Tunghai University and the research focus of his Ph.D. advisor, Prof. Hsiao-Fan Wang, in soft computing and fuzzy optimization.
Incorporating earlier research on green supply chains and drawing from his professional experience in energy policy at the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Dr. Hsu integrated these threads with a focus on food sustainability. Guided by the principle S² > (S + S), the lab emphasizes applying soft computing to sustainable decision-making, leading to the creation of the Sustainable Decision and Soft Computing Laboratory.
In February 2023, the laboratory relocated to National Taipei University of Technology, continuing its mission to innovate at the intersection of sustainability and advanced computational techniques.
The Sustainable Decision and Soft Computing Laboratory (SDSC) embodies the synergy between Sustainability and Soft Computing, reflected in its guiding principle: S² > (S + S). This philosophy emphasizes the integration of soft computing methodologies to advance sustainable decision-making processes, forming the foundation for the lab's mission.
The SDSC Laboratory focuses on applying optimization and soft computing techniques to address pressing contemporary issues, such as energy policy planning, sustainable policy and supply chain management, and circular economy development. By leveraging flexible, adaptive computational models, the lab aims to provide innovative solutions to complex sustainability challenges.
Adhering to a human-centered approach, the lab prioritizes the use of policy-driven models to solve societal problems, ensuring that research outputs align with real-world needs. Through this model-centric framework, the SDSC strives to contribute meaningful insights and actionable strategies toward achieving a sustainable future.
