Biography
Biography
Hsin-Wei Hsu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at National Taipei University of Technology (Taipei Tech), Taiwan. He received his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management from National Tsing Hua University in 2011, specializing in operations research.
His research applies optimization and soft computing to sustainable decision-making, with a focus on energy policy, sustainable supply chains, food logistics, food waste, and decision-making under uncertainty. His methodological interests include evolutionary computation, fuzzy optimization, and mathematical programming.

Before joining Taipei Tech, he served as an Assistant Professor at Chung Yuan Christian University and Tunghai University. He also spent five years at the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), where he worked as a researcher, project manager, and team leader in green energy and environmental research. His international experience includes a visiting scholar appointment at North Carolina State University and participation on behalf of Taiwan in the APEC Workshop on Best Practices on Financing Renewable Energy in Vietnam.
He founded the Sustainable Decision and Soft Computing Laboratory in 2020. The laboratory moved to Taipei Tech in February 2023 and brings together computational methods and sustainability research to address practical policy and management challenges.
