SDIA is a state non-profit organization that survives on donations and attendance of workshops. With your assistance, we are able to bring in people for different workshop topics to help improve the profession of interpreters in South Dakota. SDIA is your voice in South Dakota, your opportunity to affect change, while furthering not only your personal growth but also that of the field of interpreting. Our organization strives to promote involvement in the field of sign language by organizing various workshops that allow ongoing education and resources for those in our field. Hailey envisions a future where SDIA continues to expand its reach, strengthening support for interpreters while fostering greater access and equity for the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and DeafBlind communities. Her goals center on building sustainable programs, cultivating mentorship opportunities, and ensuring that interpreters feel valued and empowered in their work. With a focus on long-term growth and collaboration, Hailey is dedicated to guiding SDIA toward a future that reflects both innovation and community-centered impact.

Amanda graduated high school at the young age of 16!
Goals and Vision for SDIA:
Amanda would love to see SDIA continue to partner with SDAD, develop a joint committee for LGBTQIA representation support, create a sense of cooperation and reduce organizational stress. She would also love to encourage support for mentors and ongoing development of our profession.
