Prospective Swimmers

WELCOME TO THE POOL PARTY!

The Social Circle Swim Team was established in 2008 and has changed the scope of traditional sports in the middle and high school since its inception! Our team has always had a pool to practice in in either Newton or Walton County. Our current practice facilities come with a complimentary gym membership; we encourage all swimmers to utilize the facilities in off-season (supervised, if in Middle School).

As a new swimmer on our team, you and/or your swimmer can expect to:

  • Fit right in! You are part of our swim family, for a long time (#sorrynotsorry)!

  • Be encouraged. It is the responsibility of our booster board, coaches, parents and team members to exude respect and a positive attitude. We pride our student-athletes on being role models and do not tolerate bullying or any negative behavior meant to discourage others. Please do not hesitate to report such behavior to your coaches.

  • Grow in confidence! Without a doubt, the overwhelming majority of both swimmers and parents are elated with the outcome of not only physical dedication but emotional and mental strength gained from this sport. We also cannot say we haven't become better parents/guardians because of it. Seeing the smile on your kid's face after finishing a race is addicting, for everyone.

  • Get involved. No, it's not all glamorous; we don't sell concessions nor collect ticket entry fees, but we do fundraise and rally around our kids to give them the best season we can. Our program is built off of generosity. It is no small feat to ensure a season can take place (i.e. during a pandemic!) and we appreciate your contributions of time, organization and skill to help us make it happen for all interested swimmers!

Middle School Program (6th - 8th grade)

The goal of our Middle School Swim program is to create the future of swimmers!

By joining our team in 6th, 7th or 8th grade, our swimmers are able to actively establish their skillset anywhere from 5-8 years if they continue through our high school program. More than understanding and learning the basic strokes, our middle school swimmers get to compete in some exciting meets against competitive schools!

All of this preparation leads up to their high school swim career in which swimmers are eligible to compete in the annual State Championship meet at Georgia Tech!

Middle school swimmers are also eligible to break records and earn a spot on the Middle School record board in the activity center!

High School Program (9th - 12th grade)

The goal of our High School Swim program is to create opportunity!

Our high school team is comprised of returning, middle school swimmers and brand new high school swimmers; it is not a prerequisite to be part of the middle school team to swim in high school. Many of our high school swimmers have started swimming in their high school years and have enjoyed their time on the team!

Over the past 5 consecutive years, the boys and girls teams have earned a spot to compete at the State Championship meet for relay and individual events.
