Our Coaches

Our coaches are 100% dedicated to the overall development of their student-athletes, all year long.

The swim program, although only 4-5 months long, takes extreme dedication, year round. The maintenance of muscle memory is important to keep from retraining every season or after each school break. While our coaches encourage year-around swimming as extra practice exposure, or summer swim to fill the gap between spring and fall, they recognize not all students are able to participate in other leagues. In off-season and during in-season holiday breaks, our swimmers can expect to receive dry land workouts to continue their physical development outside of the pool.

Head Coach

Coach Brown joined the coaching staff in 2021 after her teaching debut at SC High School as a math teacher in 2020 (mainly Pre-Cal & College Readiness). A 10-year swimmer herself, Coach Brown brings some athletic guidance to the team and is extremely excited to work with her supporting coaches, swimmers, parents and the booster board. As a UGA alum, you will find her rooting for her Dawgs during football season!

Lay Coach

Coach Dawn is currently in her 5th coaching season with Social Circle! She, too, has decades of depth and in swim as both a swimmer and coach. Coach Dawn plans and supervises all dryland and workouts for group practices. Her group's emphasis is on stroke development and leaning the strokes- for all beginner to intermediate-experienced level swimmer.

Administrative Coach

Growing the coaching staff from 2 to 3 in 2020 was very strategic for Coach Callahan. While remaining a big part of the team, as a supportive coach, his role has evolved into transitioning Coach Brown into her head coach position. This has released Coach Dawn & Coach Wheelis from most administrative duties to the school, administration and booster board (such as meet coordination, booster board support and communication).

For our High School team, Coach Callahan and Coach Brown are responsible for reporting and verifying GHSA state cut times to the Athletic Director.
