About

OUR MISSION

Our overall goal to create swim opportunities for all can be summarized in this hashtag: #scswim4thewin.

The “4” in the tag represents: (1) our swimmers, both Middle & High School, (2) our coaches, (3) our booster - board and members, and (4) our community. We wouldn't be here without the collective 4, and individually, one group cannot support the team alone.

Our swim team is more than the work of our coaches, swimmers and managers - it is the balance of responsibility shared amongst the parents through snack provisions, volunteerism and even just touching base with a booster member every now and then.

We are people-people and want to make sure you know we advocate for you and your swimmer where possible!

THE SEASON

Our swimmers hit the water in mid-October and make their last splash in late January (for middle school) and early February (for high school).

While the swim season spans 5-months, we lose 3-4 weeks over Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years breaks. Our first meet is typically the last Saturday in October or first Saturday in November.

It is the goal of our coaches to provide the middle school team with at least 7 meets + 1 championship meet; the high school team's schedule is made to accommodate at least 9 meets + a state meet (for qualified swimmers only).

THE INVESTMENT

It is always our desire to provide EVERY interested swimmer the opportunity to swim. While our swim dues are as low as we can make them, considering our team and the per swimmer operational costs, our booster is always flexible with and responsive to requests for payment plans and scholarships (if available).

Swimming is a non-traditional school sport in many ways:

  1. the swim team cannot collect money from concession sales

  2. the swim team must rent practice facilities as there is none on campus

  3. the swim team does not have home meets, nor can they sell admission tickets

These obstacles create opportunities for our booster members and swimmers to participate in fundraisers to offset the costs of operating the team.
