Topical based focus areas provide an important entry point for environmental literacy, sustainability, and climate mitigation efforts. This Environmental Sustainability and Climate Mitigation Toolkit has a number of focus areas drawn from prominent topical/category based frameworks such as the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), One Planet Living Framework, and the U.S. Department of Education's Green Ribbon Schools Award Pillars. The focus areas included in this toolkit are the most relevant to everyday facilities and operations, connecting to important local environmental issues, and are appropriate as central themes for lessons and units of study in curriculum and instruction.
