We are excited to invite all scouts and unit leaders who are dedicated to advancing Buglers within our Atlanta Area community. Our focus for Buglers’ Assembly is to prepare Scouts to serve in the Troop Bugler leadership position. Furthermore, we support experienced Troop Buglers to advance beyond this role by delivering the EDGE training method to younger aspiring Troop Buglers. Our training program utilizes the EDGE method, a proven instructional approach that stands for Explain, Demonstrate, Guide, and Enable, to develop scouts into proficient Troop Buglers. When possible, Scout led!
Objectives:
Troop Bugler: A key goal is to have our Scouts serve as the Bugler for their Troop.
Community Service: Our trained Buglers will have the opportunity to serve the community by providing live performance bugling at various events.
Honoring Veterans: One of our key missions is to honor veterans through the solemn and respectful tradition of live bugling.
Unit Leader Support: We are a resource for Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters, Senior Patrol Leaders, Assistant Senior Patrol Leaders, among other unit leaders on the inititative to incorporate a Bugler into your Troop.
EDGE Training Details:
Explain: We begin by explaining the importance and history of bugling, along with the fundamental techniques.
Demonstrate: Experienced instructors will demonstrate proper bugling techniques, showcasing each step involved in playing different calls.
Guide: Scouts will receive guided practice, where instructors provide hands-on support and feedback to ensure correct technique and tone.
Enable: Finally, scouts will be enabled to perform independently, equipped with the skills and confidence to participate in community and veteran events.
We believe that through this structured approach, every scout can develop the proficiency needed to perform with pride and precision. Join us in this rewarding journey to develop a valuable skill for youth that contributes significantly to our community and honors our veterans.
