How do I sign-up?

Registration for Winter Sports opens on October 18th.  Players must be registered before the first day of practice (November 14). All required paperwork must be turned in and approved by your High School’s Athletic Department before you will be allowed on the ice.

Players should register with their respective high school.  The district is requiring online registration.  Check with your school’s athletic page for instructions.  As a reminder, a current sports physical must be on file in your Athletic Department. Sports physicals are valid for 3 years. Due to COVID-19, some of the MSHSL 3-year physical clearances have been extended. Please consult with your Athletic Director to see if it pertains to you.  If you need a physical,  check out Health Start Clinics for a no-cost option.

Where can I get a sports physical?

There are lots of places that offer sports physicals.  Check with your pediatrician or a  local clinic like Minute Clinic.

Highland and Central High Schools also offer a no-cost option with Health Start Clinics .

How much does it cost?

Scots Hockey is committed to making hockey a sport that is accessible to all eligible players from Highland Park Senior High and Central Senior High schools in St. Paul, MN.  The Scots Hockey Booster Club which is made up of families, friends, and community members, works hard to maximize fundraising efforts to keep fees for players and families as low as possible.

Payment plans and scholarships are available and can be coordinated directly with our Treasurer, Bryan Shirley.

There may be opportunities to earn this buyout through volunteering at US Bank Stadium through the Highland Park Sr. High PTSA.  Each shift earns approximately $100 towards the family buy-out, and the volunteer must designate Scots Hockey for their shift

When are tryouts?

Tryouts will take place November 14-17, 2022.

Are you a 9th grader interested in Scots Hockey?   You can participate in tryouts without penalties from your current Bantam team.  Coach Ryan will talk with eligible 9th graders after the first few days of tryouts.

What is your COVID-19 preparedness plan?

We need everyone (players, families, opponents) to take personal responsibility for following safe practices and adhering to the COVID protocols.  Don’t put your teammates or your hockey schedule at risk.  We will be asking each player and family to acknowledge the Scots Hockey COVID protocols.  Here’s to a successful and full season!

Details on the SPPS COVID Preparedness Plan and Rink Rules can be found on the COVID Preparedness Plan Page
