Paul Ryan is the Head Coach of Scots Hockey for the 2024-25 season.
Paul has spent the last 2 seasons as our Scots Head Coach. Previously he spent 8 years as an Assistant Coach at Cretin-Derham Hall. Prior to that he led the St. Paul Capitals Bantam A team to a state championship in 2014. Paul also spent nearly 3 years as a hockey scout for the Everett Silvertips (WA) of the WHL. Paul is a graduate of both CDH and the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire.
Jim Funk joined the Scots Hockey coaching staff in 2018 where he worked primarily with the JV team. Jim has been coaching hockey, at all levels of play, for the last 30 years. He is looking forward to spending more time with the Varsity players in the upcoming season.
Coach Funk is a Highland Park graduate. He went on to earn his bachelors degree for Minnesota State Mankato and then his Master’s Degree in Education from St. Cloud State University. Jim has been a teacher in the St. Paul Public Schools for 28 years and currently works as a physical education and adaptive physical education teacher at Global Arts Plus.
