FUNDRAISING
One St Paul, One Team
In March 2025, St. Paul Public Schools announced it would combine all existing boys hockey programs into a single program to be hosted by St. Paul Highland High School. The St. Paul Hockey Boosters (formerly SCOTS Boosters) have recognized the need for additional space to accommodate players from across the city and have embarked on a fundraising campaign in support of this project. We are seeking support from the Minneapolis - St. Paul community to make this happen.
Vision
Building a home for SPPS’ district-wide boys high school hockey program for the first time in history. Adding a JV space to the existing Varsity locker room will provide a facility at Charles M. Shulz Arena that will foster a strong, competitive and enduring program that provides opportunity for all St. Paul Public School players for years to come
What
Adding a basic space for overnight and in-season JV equipment storage and changing. Currently, the JV team uses communal locker room facilities on a daily basis and must transport their gear to and from practices and games.
Safety
There is no bus program from the schools to arena. JV rosters are predominantly freshman and sophomores and cannot drive. Players with a vehicle and license are limited in how many minors they can transport.
Access
Not all families are able to provide transportation on a daily basis to after school practices. Storing equipment on a season basis at the arena would enable more players to pursue hockey from across the district.
$70,000
We envision broad based support from organizations, businesses, individuals, and families that want to see public high school hockey thrive in St. Paul. The St. Paul Hockey Boosters and Friends of St. Paul Hockey have established a fund that will match these contributions 1:1 until the goal is met.
While a modest project, it requires mechanical and electrical upgrades to meet MN Building codes for a dressing room (no showers).
Timeline
Begin Construction by early fall 2025 to be ready for the beginning of the 2025-2026 Season.
