SC INBRE Award Number: P20GM103499
Per NIH, by accepting an award, recipients agree to comply with the requirements in the NIH Grants Policy Statement except where the notice of award states otherwise.
Recipients of SC INBRE funds (start-up, salary, equipment, supplies, etc.) should cite the grant in all publications, press releases/public statements, abstracts, presentations, posters and publications (see below) where SC INBRE funds have contributed to support of the work. The publication’s (presentation’s, etc.) acknowledgement of NIGMS funding and disclaimer should read as follows:
“Research reported in this [publication/presentation] was supported by the National Institute of General Medical Sciences of the National Institutes of Health under Award Number P20GM103499 which provided [xx%] in the amount of [$xx] for this work. The content is solely the responsibility of the authors and does not necessarily represent the official views of the National Institutes of Health.”
The NIH grants policy statement outlines requirements for acknowledging Federal funding in the following products when describing projects or programs funded in whole or in part with NIH funds:
research publications
press releases and other public statements
other publications or documents about research that is funded by NIH
requests for proposals and bid invitations
and other documents describing projects or programs funded in whole or in part with Federal money
These types of products must include the following three statements:
A specific acknowledgment of NIH grant support, such as:
“Research reported in this [publication/press release] was supported by the National Institute of General Medical Sciences of the National Institutes of Health under award number P20GM10399.” (If you have more than one grant, only cite the grant(s) that supported the research described in the article or presentation.)
🚨 NEW! An acknowledgement of the level of NIH funding that indicates:
the percentage and dollar amounts of the total program or project costs financed with Federal money and
the percentage and dollar amount of the total costs financed by nongovernmental sources.
A disclaimer that says:
“The content is solely the responsibility of the authors and does not necessarily represent the official views of the National Institutes of Health.”
If you have utilized an SC INBRE-supported Core (for example, our Data Science Core), equipment purchased by SC INBRE, etc., use the acknowledgement statement above as a template and adjust according to the type and amount of support provided by SC INBRE.
