August 12, 2020: SC INBRE announces almost $650,000 in grants funding to 2020 Project Program Grants Recipients

  • Bioinformatics Pilot Project Program grants (faculty): The goal of the SC INBRE Bioinformatics Pilot Project Program is to stimulate interest in the application of genomics and bioinformatics methods by supporting research and student training throughout the SC INBRE and South Carolina Clinical and Translational Research Institute (SCTR) networks. Funded projects are expected to generate preliminary data for presentations, publications and grant proposals by faculty and their students. All resulting publications must acknowledge SC INBRE support.

  • Developmental Research Project Program grants (faculty): DRP awards are offered on a competitive basis and support independent research and mentored career development of Target Faculty. All DRP proposals must focus on Biomedical Science and fit within at least one of the broad scientific focus areas of SC INBRE: Regenerative Medicine; Cell and Molecular Biology; Neuroscience; and Bioinformatics.

  • Student-Initiated Research Projects Program grants (students): This program is designed to enrich the academic experience of students and to better prepare the future generation of researchers, investigators, and entrepreneurs throughout the SC INBRE network. SIRP applications must apply bioinformatics tools to biomedical research questions and fit within the broad scientific focus areas of SC INBRE.
