The 5 Kingdoms
The 5 Kingdoms
Prokaryotic Cells & Eukaryotes Cells
First Kingdom:
AKA. Prokaryotic
Unicellular
No organized nucleus
There are 3 types of Bacteria:
Examples:
Second Kingdom:
Have a true nucleus
No cell wall
Unicellular or multicellular but mostly unicellular (singled-celled) organisms with plant or animal-like characteristics.
Examples:
Third Kingdom:
Decompose substances outside their bodies and absorb their nutrients.
Nucleus in cells
Cell walls
Mostly multicellular
Examples:
Fourth Kingdom:
Make their own food by Photosynthesis
Nucleus in cells
Possess chloroplasts and cell walls
Reproduce sexually or asexually
Multicellular
Examples:
Fifth Kingdom:
Have specialized sense organs that allow them to respond to their environment
Nucleus in cells
No cell walls
Ingest their food - Heterotrophs
Multicellular organisms
Examples:
Viruses:
Not classified in a kingdom
Contain genetic material (DNA) but lack cell structures
Only carry on the life function of reproduction
They must have a host (another living organism) to be able to reproduce
This causes disease in the host
Examples:
