This course gave me the opportunity to understand the process of advocating for change and innovation with instructional technology. I created two leadership in innovation projects which I completed within my current school.
I worked with a task force to study collaboration time within my school district. The purpose of this project was to determine if changes needed to made to the collaboration time given during the school year. After a survey of staff we analyzed the data to better understand the stakeholders' view of a possible change. Ultimately, the data showed that the staff like collaboration time the way it was currently allocated, but wanted to see it used differently to meet their needs.
I piloted using e-portfolios in my Geometry classroom. Each student created their own ePortfolio and posted explorations and projects. The purpose of this pilot was to discover and explore methods for using e-portfolios to show what students are learning in their math classrooms. It is a continuation of a previous initiative to implement eportfolios in the school where I teach.
