In this course, I learned to be aware of how learners see and understand the learning materials I create. This course also challenged me to justify my design choices through effective writing.
Fight for Liberty is a short video created for middle school students. I used a modern song paired with visuals and quotes from American history to inspire teenagers to find a way to overcome the things in life that keep them from truly living.
This comic was created as a way to inspire creative expression through simple poetry and design.
Hunger in the Halls is an infographic which explains the reality of students who qualify for free and reduced lunch in Woodland Park School District. I designed this infographic to provide staff with a visual representation of the statistics and to give them practical ways they can help these students in our schools.
I created my presentation to encourage change in the way social studies is taught. The Social Studies Method is a process I designed and continue to advocate for. I want to help teachers change the focus from passing tests to creating students who learn to learn. I used my presentation to introduce the social studies method to teachers who want to increase student ownership and independence of learning through wonder and inquiry.
