The Class of 2015 Valedictorian from the School of Health Sciences (HS), Brandon Chia Zheng Da was recognised with the Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) Chairman’s Award. In recognising Brandon’s efforts, NP Principal, Mr Clarence Ti provided this citation for Brandon:
“Talent is an interesting word. Some people are talented because they are endowed with natural gifts. Some are talented because they worked very hard at a skill. Some are talented because of the choices they make. This last part is perhaps the most important. It determines whether your talents will eventually be wasted or developed. More importantly, choices are important because you can decide to dedicate your time, energy and talent in service of others or in service to a greater good. This year’s Chairman’s Award winner, Brandon Chia Zheng Da, is one such fine example where he joined a team of volunteers to provide medical aid and support to victims of the recent earthquakes in Nepal. … These awards, which recognize your talent and dedication, is also a way for us to say that these endeavours are worthwhile and that paths of success are not limited to those who can study well and are booksmart but also to those whose talents and strengths lie elsewhere.”
The HS Community is proud to call Brandon Chia one of own and shares in his family's pride and joy at Brandon's achievement.
