Safety and Security
According to district policy, once school begins all doors except the front door to the school will be locked. All parents and visitors are asked to sign in at the office. Messages for students, lunches, homework, etc., should be left at the office to minimize disruption to the classroom. All items will be delivered promptly by school staff.
Lost and Found
Please take the time to LABEL all outerwear and anything else that could get lost. If it is labeled, we can easily return the items. The Lost and Found area is located across the custodian’s desk. Please check the Lost and Found area for any lost items. If you have any questions or need help finding a lost item, please call the school office.
Report Cards
Standards Based Report Cards are issued at the end of January and on the last day of school in June. Individual parent conferences are scheduled in November and March. (More information about the district's transition to and use of Standards Based Report Cards can be found here: Wellesley Public Schools: K-5 Standards Based Report Cards
The Education Reform Act of 1993 requires all Massachusetts public schools to form a school council to act in an advisory capacity to the Principal. School councils must have a balance of parents and staff members, and also include a community representative. The Schofield School Council is comprised of four parents, four staff members, a Community Representative, and the Principal.
One of the most important tasks of school councils is the development of an annual school improvement plan. As part of this process, in the spring of each school year, the Schofield School Council distributes a survey to inform the development of the school improvement plan for the following school year. The survey is distributed to staff and parents, and covers the areas that fall under the purview of school councils. These areas include: school culture and climate; safety; curriculum and instruction in terms of meeting the individual needs of each child; parental involvement; and communications between home and school. The responses to the surveys are reviewed by the school council and utilized in the formulation of the school improvement plan for the upcoming school year.
