Schofield Cares
Schofield Cares is part of the Cares programs that exist throughout the WPS and it supports families and students with needs ranging from food and transportation to connection, communication and celebration.
Schofield Cares is a PTO Committee that focuses on assisting and supporting Schofield families in need of help. It supports families and students with needs ranging from food and transportation to connection, communication, and celebration. From difficulty accessing basic needs, to an extraordinary event such as a birth, surgery, illness, hospitalization or loss, you can support our Schofield Community in many ways! Our community of parent volunteers collaborate to fulfill urgent needs.
Cares programs exist to support families at our WPS schools with needs affecting students'; well-being, and programming is intentionally dynamic to be responsive to the needs of families and the community. Support can take many forms, and Cares values inclusion, dignity, and community in determining priorities, strategies, and projects.
Opportunities for assistance may also depend on the availability of resources and the immediacy of needs. Frequently, Cares relies on networks of parents and staff partnering to coordinate and deliver urgently needed goods such as clothing, food, gas, or essential household items. Additionally, Cares ensures that all students and their families have access to social and extracurricular involvement at school by facilitating playdates, subsidizing event participation, and regularly collaborating with the school social worker to ensure unmet needs are addressed.
If you or someone you know is part of a Schofield family who might benefit from the support of Schofield Cares right now or in the future, please reach out directly to Schofield Social Worker Sara Berenson (berensons@wellesleyps.org) or directly to
