Nigeria is working toward achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by addressing challenges that affect communities across the country.
Goal: End hunger, achieve food security, improve nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture.
Food insecurity remains an important challenge in Nigeria. Young people can play a meaningful role by learning about sustainable agriculture, reducing food waste, supporting community initiatives, and raising awareness about nutrition and food security.
πΎ Learn about sustainable farming
π Avoid unnecessary food waste
π₯ Promote healthy nutrition
π Educate others about food security
π€ Support community-based initiatives
π‘ Develop innovative solutions to local challenges
Achieving Zero Hunger is not only about having enough food. It is also about making sure people have access to safe, nutritious, and sustainable food.
βSmall actions can create big change.β
As students and young changemakers, we have the opportunity to understand the challenges facing our communities and contribute ideas that can help build a more sustainable Nigeria.

SDG 7 β Affordable and Clean Energy
Our project focused on creating awareness among community members about the environmental and health impacts of traditional cooking fuels such as firewood.
Many communities rely on firewood for cooking. Burning firewood releases smoke and pollutants into the air, contributing to air pollution and climate-related environmental problems.
Prolonged exposure to household smoke can also affect people's health.
We worked to educate and convince community members about the importance of cleaner and more sustainable energy choices.
We encouraged conversations about:
β‘ Cleaner cooking alternatives
π± Sustainable energy use
π¨ Reducing harmful smoke emissions
π‘ Improving household air quality
π Protecting our environment
SDG 7 aims to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all.
Moving toward cleaner energy can help communities reduce harmful pollution while creating a healthier and more sustainable future.
Clean energy is not just about protecting the planet β it's about creating healthier communities and a better future for everyone.
