Vijay’s recent works are a scathing commentary on the climate crisis. They essentially hold up a mirror to their viewers – presenting a peek into all the things we have blinded ourselves to and the harsh truths we refuse to acknowledge. They hold the key to the many questions that haunt our daily lives – questions that pose new meanings to our fight for survival, our place in the world, and our relationship to nature that thrives us all. His work is predominantly autobiographical and emerges from the sights he sees in the city and incidents from his personal experiences. Well known for his large wood blocks of owls and crows, his most recent works visualizes sound through lines, rendering them a tactile quality that resonates with a collective frequency embedded in our personal narratives. By exploring the space between the lines, his work is at once macro-in its vision and micro in its depth.
