At Parkland Community Center (PCC), we are proud to partner with and rent space out to non profit organizations that provide vital support to families and members of our community. Right now we have two long-term tenants in Parkland Community Center and are in talks with other non profit organizations who are interested in renting space and providing even more services for our community. Our current tenants include:
Family Promise (getbed.org)
Family Promise helps families experiencing homelessness by offering shelter, case management, and resources to regain stability. Their mission is to ensure every child has a safe place to sleep and the support needed to thrive.
Dads MOVE (dadsmove.org)
Dads MOVE (Mentoring Others With Voices of Experience) empowers fathers of children with behavioral health needs. They provide peer support, advocacy training, and resources to help dads navigate the challenges of raising children with special needs.
Both organizations play a crucial role in strengthening families and building a more supportive community. Visit their websites to learn more or get involved!
In addition to our long-term tenants, we have a few groups who regularly meet at the community center including:
Parkland Community Assn (PCA) - Meetings are the 4th Tuesday of the month from 6:00 - 7:30 pm
Save Parkland School Workgroup is a subcommittee of PCA . Work group meetings are monthly, the 2nd Tuesday at 6 pm at Parkland Community Center.
Kiwanis Club of Parkland Spanaway - Meetings are every Thursday from 11:30 -1:00 pm
Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America - Newly Forming Rainier Lodge - Meetings are the 1st Wednesday of each month from 6:30 - 8:30 pm

Right now PCC is 100% volunteer-run. Before we can fully open the community center to the public, we have a few projects that need to be completed and we need to hire someone to be on staff to be at the community center daily. We are looking for sponsors for these projects and more!
Our wheelchair lift is becoming obsolete and will need to be replaced in the near future. The lift has lasted over 30 years and the replacement cost is about $60,000!
There was roof leak on the south side of the building that has since been fixed. This leak caused some damage to the south side walls in various spots on every floor of the building and damaged the ceiling on the 3rd floor. The water damage to the ceiling on the 3rd floor led to the discovery of beautiful skylight that had been covered with a false ceiling (water damaged) that we need to remove. Until this is repaired, we are unable to use the entire 3rd floor of the building.
There are 30+ windows that are damaged and need to be replaced. Quite a few windows are boarded up and we would love to have some more natural light in the building!
We have many other projects beyond the ones listed above, but these are our first priority for getting the building open to the public.
If you or your organization sponsors one of these projects, you will be recognized via a plaque that is prominently displayed in the building.
To sponsor a project please call Julie Collison at 253-906-8751 or email saveparklandschool@gmail.com
