Tips for Parents:

In order for parents to best support their studnets in this module they should

• Assist child in creating a daily schedule to help manage time and course requirements

• Encourage the child to be on time and participate in all parts of the live Zoom lessons

• Assist their child with reading and activities on asynchronous days

• Encourage their child to take advantage of office house and come ask questions for clarity

• Attend office hours with child if necessary

• Contact teacher for any and all questions about the outcomes and content

• Review standards and reference the Next Generation Science Standards website for additional support

About the Student Population:

Pine Crest Elementary in Silver Spring, Maryland. My school is just grades three through five. We have five general fourth grade classes and two gifted and talented fourth grade classes. I currently teach 22 students. 12 are male and 10 are female. My students come from all different backgrounds and are many different races. Seven are African American, three are white, ten are Hispanic and two are Asian. 12 of my students receive and qualify for free and reduced meals. Nine are English language learners and 4 have individualized education plans and receive special education services.
