In the early 1960s, a marketing arrangement was established between Anschütz, West Germany, Savage Arms in the U.S. and Canadian Industries Limited (CIL). Under the agreement, which lasted from 1963 to about 1981, several guns made by both Anschütz and Savage were given CIL model numbers and marketed in Canada. The CIL 830 was effectively a re-branded Savage 340. The CIL 830 barrel length is 20”
