Accurizing the 340

Savage 340E with home made receiver mounting bolt.

This receiver has been modified (not factory) so that the front barrel securing band has been removed and a piece of metal has been welded to the rear of the trigger guard. It was then drilled and tapped to permit a machine screw to go through the rear of the trigger guard and the stock to secure the rear of the receiver to the stock (at the rear). The front is secured by the screw that goes into the lug as normal.
