A HOMELESS CITY: FOOD FOR THOUGHT (third Year)

Tasked with a redevelopment in Newcastle's harbour, I centred my proposal around enabling everyday people in the gentrified location, acting as a social catalyst. A public thoroughfare opening up the precinct from the surrounding highrise developments with a pop-up style food market at ground level, while including a doctors clinic, food rescue restaurant, brew pub, hostel and social housing.

The modular social housing aimed to allow lower socio-demographic to live in the heart of the city. The overarching scheme of the development is providing low-skilled employment opportunities for underprivileged citizens. A food rescue restaurant (oz harvest alike) aims to reduce the food waste along with the stigma associated with the use of excess food, educating, providing employment, and combating hunger while encouraging residents in participation in the rooftop garden.

GOSFORD COMMUNITY LIBRARY (third year)

The brief was for a multi-purpose information centre, library, archives, cafe and function hall. Gosford is currently experiencing a state of urban decay with a lack of connection from the main road through to Kibble park, encouraging anti-social behaviour. This proposal looks to offer a new pedestrian thoroughfare whilst encouraging social participaction in the CBD.

PARAMETRIC abstraction (second year)

Tasked with an abstraction of a groups previous assessment research, we were asked to take the information in a new direction focusing on parametric CAD outcomes. After running simulations to backup our hypothesis, I constructed panels out of corflute and wrote the C++ code that programed the arduino products that responded to changing closeby acoustics.

Tell the detail (first year)

After designing a small country side retreat for a client, the brief required an unique detail to be designed and built. Relying on my metalwork background, I built (unfortunately don't have pictures as i wasnt super organised in my first year of university) a patio shade device.
