5/9/25: Individual experiences

1. How have you developed as an artist and animator throughout the semester? 

• I feel like I have personally made a lot of improvements and had a huge amount of growth this semester. For one, I have grown into much more of a team player, and I have made myself more accustomed to relying on the rest of the Knitwits team for assistance when I need it

2. What are some areas where you have gained experience or knowledge?

• I have gained some experience in the areas of modeling and figuring out how to create a short by sticking to planning documents like shot lists, asset lists, and setting standards for models

3. Was there anything about the production experience that surprised you? How did you handle the unexpected challenges?

• I was honestly surprised at how well our group handled our individual tasks. I was a little surprised at how fast the schedule was paced, but once I realized that this was just how it needed to be, I got my feet under me and sped up my work speed to match the schedule Mack wrote

4. What are you most proud of in terms of your accomplishments this semester?

• The accomplishment I am most proud of this semester is the modeling work I have done, primarily on the models for General Berry and Tink the medic. I love working in the style of Knitwits, and figuring out how to make these yarn people was such a nice challenge, using curves and other tools in a more creative way than I had previously

5. What do you think you could have done better this semester?

• I could have definitely improved on my communication and organization in regards to keeping up with my schedule, and communicating to the rest of the group where I'm at or if I am struggling

6. List some personal goals for the next two semesters.

• To get more confident about comunicating my struggles to the group, especially as the next two semesters will be focused on work which is not my strong suit, such as animation and textures 

  • To gain more skill at animating and doing texturing, so I am more of an asset to the team, and also once I leave school

Group experiences

1. How did your group handle the  challenges and requirements of the semester?

• Presonally, I feel like my team handled this semester's challenges extremely well. We have kept a very steady focus on our end goal all semester, and thanks to the schedule made by Mack, we have been kept responsible and steadily approaching our target. I feel like we have taken everything in stride, and luckily we tend to agree on most things, or quickly find ways to get through any disagreements while avoiding them turning into arguments or something disrespectful

2. In what ways did your group maintain focus on the goals of the project?

• I feel like the main things keeping our group focused were Rianne's persistence and focus, and Mack's scheduling that kept us on track and at a good pace

3. How did your group handle personal or interpersonal issues that came up along the way?

• I feel our group had very few personal issues that came up, and for the very few that did, they were not major, and we were able to handle them respectfully, peacefully and kindly every time

4. Do you feel that everyone’s personal strengths are being used well?

• I feel ike everyone is doing something that they both enjoy and are skilled at. Everyone seems to be having a great time with their tasks from what I can tell, and so do I

5. Do you feel that the work is being shared fairly?

• I do feel like the work was initially divided up very fairly, and still is, although a lot of the modeling work did end up falling to me, and I did end up having to sort of remodel and fix some models that were given to some of our group members who were less confident in their modeling skills, leading to some issues in their models. However, I did volunteer for these tasks, so I can't complain too much, plus it gives me a bit more modeling practice, and I do enjoy it quite a lot.

6. What did your group do well this semester?

• This semester our group excelled at managing our schedule and tackling the fairly complex and challenging job that was this short film. Everyone kept to the schedule more or less, and we managed to stay relatively ahead of schedule pretty much the entire semester. I have had a great time this semester, and really look forward to working more with this group

7. What do you feel your group could have done better?

• I feel our group could have done a better job of being more honest with each other as far as checking in with each other and seeing how everyone was feeling, especially when it comes to feeling overwhelmed. I also think we need to work on making sure everyone is on the same page with what phase of work we are in at the current moment

8. List some goals that your group has for the next two semesters.

• Our group's goal for next semester is to end up with most of our animation and textures finished, so our third and final semester can be focused on finishing and polishing all of the shots up as far as lighting and such. I feel like these are pretty achievable tasks, especially getting textures done. My goal by the start of next semester is to
