CANYONING ON SAMOTHRAKI

A recent development in adventure holidays on Samothraki is organised canyoning in the gorges.

The 'Fengari' Hiking Club organises regular climbs and walks around the island.

In summer boat trips around the island,particularly to the inaccessible beaches of the south coast, are very popular with visitors and locals alike.

The Theodora tour boat sank in 2017 after she caught fire while berthed in Therma harbour.

There will be a replacement boat - whether this will be ready for the 2018 season is a question that remains to be answered.

There are other options available for visiting the inaccessible areas of the island.
