Frieren — Character Modeling Fan Art 

Frieren is a 3D character model I created as a personal project based on Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, one of the series I’ve become a huge fan of.

My goal with this project was to bring Frieren from her original 2D design into a fully realized 3D character while staying faithful to the elements that make her instantly recognizable. I focused on her facial features, proportions, hairstyle, clothing, and overall silhouette, making sure the different pieces came together to capture the look and personality of the original design.

Working on a character from a series I genuinely love made this project especially enjoyable. It gave me an opportunity to spend time studying the smaller design choices that can easily be overlooked when translating a character from animation into 3D.

From the shape of her hair and ears to the construction of her clothing and the proportions of her character design, I wanted the final model to feel like Frieren had stepped directly out of the show and into 3D.

This was ultimately a personal fan art project and another opportunity for me to practice my character modeling workflow while working on a character I was already passionate about.

I’m a huge fan of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, so getting the chance to create my own 3D interpretation of her was a really rewarding experience. I hope I did her design justice!
