The Empty Cup
Once upon a time, there was a wise old Sufi master who lived in a small village. One day, a young man came to the master, seeking wisdom. The master invited the young man to his home and served him a cup of tea. The young man drank the tea and asked the master to fill his cup again.
The master poured more tea into the young man's cup, but the tea just spilled over the sides, as the cup was already full. The young man didn't understand what the master meant, so the master explained, "The cup is your mind, and the tea is the wisdom I am trying to give you. But if your mind is already full of your own opinions and beliefs, there is no room for new wisdom to enter."
The young man realized that his mind was indeed full of his own opinions, and asked the master to teach him how to empty his mind.
The master replied, "To empty your mind, you must first be willing to let go of what you think you know and be open to new ideas and perspectives. Only then you can truly learn and grow."
The young man thanked the master and left, determined to empty his cup and open his mind to new wisdom.
