We are currently recruiting motivated students, postdocs and visiting researchers.

Principal Investigator (tenure-track, 2020- )

Marie Saitou, Ph.D. [Personal Website], [CV]

(Equivalent to Assistant Professor in the US system)

My research area is evolutionary genomics.  I have started my tenure-track position in bioinformatics and statistical genomics at CIGENE. After completing my Ph.D. at the University of Tokyo, Japan, in human evolutionary genetics, I pursued postdoctoral training in bioinformatics, statistical, and functional genomics at the University at Buffalo and the University of Chicago in the US. I am broadly interested in revealing the biological bases of uniquely evolved various species by combining multi-scale data sets such as from genomics, molecular, and cellular level observations.

Postdoctoral Scholar

Please apply for the MSCA postdoc fellowship!!
(yearly call, March)

The Research support office team, NMBU, and I will assist you in preparing your application, but I can only accept about one person per year, as I will spend about the same amount of effort as co-authoring a paper. Similarly, I expect you to work very hard on it.

Postdoctoral Scholar
Jun Soung Kwak (2022-) [Personal Page]

Jun received his PhD at Pukyong national university, South Korea and has developed reverse genetically engineered rhabdoviruses for vaccines and delivery vehicles. He is now leading the project to develop the gene-editing method for genomic structural variants. He is co-advised by Dr. Guro Sandvik.

Ph.D. candidate
Domniki Manousi (2022-) [Personal Page]

Domniki is investigating genetic factors for infectious disease resistance in Atlantic salmon. She is co-supervised by Drs. Simen Sandve, Sigbjørn Lien.

Ph.D. candidate
Célian Diblasi (2022-) [Personal Page]

Celian, from the University of Montpellier, will lead a project to understand the evolution of structural variants after whole-genome duplication in Atlantic salmon. He is co-supervised by Drs. Nicola Barson and Simen Sandve.

Master's student
Erik Sandertun Røed (2022-) [ORCID]

Erik is a master's student in evolutionary biology and bioinformatics. He will lead a project to understand the biological basis of the phenotypic diversity of European lobsters under the co-supervision of Drs. Louise Chavarie and Arturo Vera Ponce De Leon.
