School PTA Activities

Sagbuco Elementary School held its first General Assembly of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) on September 6, 2024. The event brought together parents, guardians, and teachers to discuss and address important issues related to the school community.

The assembly was led by the school head, who welcomed the attendees and emphasized the significance of the PTA in fostering collaboration between the school and the home. The school head outlined the PTA's objectives and encouraged parents to actively participate in the organization's activities.

During the meeting, various topics were discussed, including:

• DepEd Order 13, s.2022: An orientation was conducted on the Omnibus Guidelines on the Regulations of SPTA in schools, providing parents and teachers with a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities within the PTA.

• School policies: The school administration presented information on relevant school policies, such as attendance requirements, grading systems, and disciplinary procedures.

• Assessment: Teachers discussed the school's assessment practices, including the use of standardized tests, formative assessments, and summative assessments.

• PTA contributions: The PTA discussed potential contributions to the school, such as financial support, volunteer work, and resource donations.

• Projects: The PTA explored potential projects that could benefit the school and the community, such as classroom renovations, educational programs, or community outreach initiatives.

Due to the absence of several homeroom SPTA presidents during the inaugural General Assembly, the election of SPTA-BOD officers for the School Year 2024-2025 has been postponed. A new date for the elections will be announced in due course, allowing for adequate notice to all concerned parties.

The school encourages all homeroom SPTA presidents to prioritize their attendance at the upcoming election meeting, as their participation is crucial for the successful formation of the new SPTA-BOD.

Sagbuco Elementary School successfully conducted the much-anticipated SPTA BOD elections and induction ceremony on September 17, 2024. The event followed the postponement of the original election due to the absence of some homeroom SPTA presidents during the General Assembly.

Prior to the elections, an orientation was conducted to familiarize the attendees with the roles and responsibilities of SPTA officials as outlined in DepEd Order 13, s.2022. This ensured that all candidates and members had a clear understanding of the expectations and commitments associated with these positions.

The SPTA BOD elections proceeded smoothly, resulting in the successful election of competent and dedicated individuals to lead the organization for the School Year 2024-2025. Following the elections, an induction ceremony was held, where the newly elected SPTA BOD officers and EXECOM members took their oath of office. The induction was led by the school head, who emphasized the importance of their roles in fostering collaboration between the school and the community.

After the induction, the newly formed SPTA BOD convened for a meeting to discuss pressing school-related issues that require solutions and the active involvement of the entire school community. The meeting served as a platform for parents, teachers, and school administrators to share their concerns, brainstorm ideas, and develop strategies to address these challenges collectively.

The successful conduct of the SPTA BOD elections and induction marks a significant milestone for Sagbuco Elementary School. The newly elected officers are poised to lead the PTA in achieving its goals and making a positive impact on the school community.

On October 25, 2024, Sagbuco Elementary School successfully conducted its First Quarter Parent-Teacher Conference cum Parents’ Day at the school multipurpose hall. This event, outlined in School Memorandum No. 11, s.2024, served as a vital platform for fostering collaboration and transparency among the school's internal and external stakeholders, particularly parents and teachers.

The primary objective of the conference was to enhance parental involvement in learners' education. By providing a structured environment for open communication, parents and teachers were able to engage in meaningful discussions regarding each learner's progress, strengths, and areas needing improvement. This direct interaction facilitated a shared understanding of the learner's academic journey and allowed for collaborative problem-solving.

The conference also aimed to improve student achievement. Teachers provided parents with detailed insights into their children's academic performance, highlighting both successes and areas where additional support might be beneficial. This open dialogue enabled parents to gain a clearer picture of their child's learning trajectory and empowered them to reinforce learning at home.

Furthermore, the event focused on developing collaborative strategies between parents and teachers. By addressing any behavioral, social, or academic concerns in a unified manner, parents and teachers could work together to create a supportive learning environment for the child, both at home and in school.
