This is a book that I agented, or co-agented. My role was that of an art director, a role I was very familiar with. My illustrator was selected for the chance to illustrate this series of books. But what students learn in this story is that it does not matter where you start. (Google began with two individuals who did not like each other. ) It does not matter the mistakes you make along the way. (Google also began with a typo, which is a fun thing to talk about with kids of every age.) And it doesn't matter the steep and troublesome adversity you face along the way. (Google had many.) What matters is you and your ideas and your beliefs about how you might make your world better.
Google's 10 Things represents this belief. This is what guided two guys who did not like each other to build a billion-dollar business. This makes for a great TURN AND TALK in any library or classroom or school or whole district.
