Elementary School (kindergarten-5th grade)
For kindergarten to 5th grade I went to my town public school, Redwood School. I engaged myself in various activities part of the school including many clubs as well as girl scouts from a young age. I learned how to interact with people in my community and town. During my time here I was able to grow as a person and develop basic skills to help me in my further studies. I was able to keep the drive and passion I had steady and started to pursue my interests.Middle and High School (6th grade- present)
For middle school as well as high school I moved into the private school system to challenge myself as a person mentally as well as physically. I was able to adapt well to the academic pressure a private school brings. I swiftly moved into the right direction and started to challenge myself even further. Since middle school I started to pursue my passion of soccer as well as express myself as an activist and become part of the equity and inclusion team. I started to engage in school activities and become familiar in the environment. I hope to further include myself in this community and grow as a person as I continue my journey.Indian School (kindergarten-6th grade)
From a young age my parents put me into an Indian school. Here I was able to express and understand the Indian roots that is attached to my personal identity. I not only learned the Hindu religion, such as prayers and gods. I also learned about famous social justice leaders and inspirational leaders. I engaged myself by learning how to play Indian traditional instruments and learned how to sing traditional Indian songs. I also engaged in public speaking competitions and storytelling. I also engaged myself in learning the traditional written language in India, Sanskrit. Overall, during my time in the school I was able to gain an overarching understanding of my culture.
