EIT (Equity and Inclusion Team) (9th grade-present)

The Equity and Inclusion Team is a council that was started in my school to promote diversity and inclusion throughout the grades. It is comprised of a team of students who lead and create events regarding topics related to current events, race, as well as various social identities. I became part of the team my freshman year of high school. As a member of the team I am a representative in various conference's related to attributes of the people in the communities identities. I also help run events comprising of information as well as panel speakers to inform the community of cultural events as well as ideas such as mental health, as well as women in education. As part of EIT I also interact with other club leaders and members to sponsor and create even bigger events related to topics discussing identities, race, and religion.

In my school on application basis I became part of the Community Service Council. As part of this council I was able to engage in my school's community engagement in community service. I was able to create events related to service for student and adults part of the community to engage and participate. I dove deeper into topics such as food and home insecurity as my focus while creating events. I was able to see the growth first hand of the work that was being done. Starting sophomore year I stepped down my active role in the community service council and became part of the EIT community service committee to apply all the work that I have done in community service council and add the social justice aspect that I love about service.
