“Kasugbong: Progressing Together, from Hardship to Harvest”
This artwork is a concoction of all the intricate details that make up the journey undertaken by our dedicated farmer-beneficiaries as they progress towards prosperity, guided by the Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Program– from the ground up.
“Kasugbong”, meaning ally in Waray-waray, encapsulates how the program uplifted its beneficiaries from their humble beginnings, visually narrating their ascent starting from the foundational process of the social preparation component; to the specialized trainings by the food production livelihood component which are tailored to not only equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge, but also empower them to flourish independently in their agricultural endeavors; and all the way to the initiatives of the marketing assistance and enterprise development component, which strategically aids them in reaching wider markets and ensuring the sustainability of their enterprises.
Ultimately, this piece illustrates the transformative partnership between the SAAD Program and its beneficiaries, showcasing how collaborative efforts cultivate improved livelihoods, foster sustainable development, and empower communities to shape their own hopeful and prosperous futures.
