X370 motherboards require a 8 pin EPS Power cable 12 volt
I opted for an 850 Watt PSU
After 2 years the PSU became problematic. The 24 pin connector stopped making proper contact and sometimes did not power up. The problem was identified as when I gently moved the 24 pin connector the system power up. I replaced the PSU with a "750W - Aerocool MOD XT 80+ Bronze Modular Power Supply" which has been working as it should since it was replaced. This PSU includes 8 pin EPS power connector.

This connection is similar to a PCI EXPRESS ADAPTOR but it is not the same thing. You will also notice the layout of the
connector is different. I needed this adaptor as the PSU did not have this connector. If you can find a PSU which includes an 8 pin EPS power connector that will avoid the need for this device.
You will find many of the latest motherboard require this ATX_12V power.
