For this analysis I learned some of the fundamental tools of R Studio and how to use it in conjunction with Arc GIS Pro. I used a dataset of bird observations from the Galapagos Science Center to look for correlations between type of land cover and types of birds in that area. The map above shows the locations where four different birds species were found on San Cristobal Island and whether or not they were observed around guava. Through my research I found that guava is an invasive species on San Cristobal Island and I was curious to know how it impacted different bird species on the island.
I utilized ggplot within R Studio to create a stacked bar chart that indicated the type of land cover four different species of birds were most commonly found in. Through my analysis I found that the small ground finch (sgf) was both most common on the island and most commonly found around guava.
