This analysis involved digitizing maps from 1890 and 1932 so that they could be compared with a map from 2019. The focus of this analysis was to see how grasslands have changed over the course of the last hundred and thirty years.
In order to create the map shown above, I brought a scanned photo of the 1932 aerial and georeferenced it to Orcas Island. From there I was able to manually digitize all of the grassland and agricultural areas visible at the time.
