For this project I was apart of a large group that set out to map the Sehome Arboretum for accessibility. I was apart of the data collection team that went into the Arboretum and mapped the entire Huntoon trail for features that could be obsticales or interesting using Arc GIS field maps. This project provided me with valuable insight into how to effectively work with a large group to collect and share data that could then be used for maps.
The data collection portion that I participated in split the Huntoon trail into 90 twenty meter sections that I then went through and collected information on with the help of a few groupmates. We recorded information about average slope of the section, obsticles that were present, width of the trail and elevation. All of this information could be useful to someone interested in exploring the trail and interested in infromation about it. Attached at the bottom of this page is a link to the story map my group made highlighting the information I helped to collect.
