"When I say "recommended to beginners" here I mean "recommended as a first VN to read in Japanese." Recommended solely due to ease of prose (and because apparently it's good, idk I haven't read it yet). Makura VNs are typically extremely easy to read, and apparently this is the second-best one as of now, behind SakuUta. Reading SakuUta gets very tricky at some points, however, due to sometimes subtle or convoluted plot points, references to Japanese literature, and a few other reasons I can't discuss without getting into spoiler territory. H2O should give you the "Makura VN experience" without those roadblocks."
