Course Assignments

Formal essays allow you to demonstrate your critical writing, thinking, and reading skills and to explore ideas from class in more depth than the journals; they allow me to give you feedback on your writing, including how to improve. These essays will range in length from 3-8 pages that adhere to a highly structured model that is defined in the class.

Discussion posts and Flipgrids give you the opportunity to practice writing and discussions with and about sources and allow you to thoughtfully respond to your peers’ responses through either writing or video.

Writing process work helps you avoid procrastination and allows me to give you feedback on your ideas and/or sources before you start to write the actual formal papers.

The class final will involve a timed exam online with a mixture of multiple choice and short essay responses.
