Russian Air Force ATC Informational
ALL PILOTS READ THIS
What is ATC? : ATC stands for Air Traffic Controller. Air Traffic Controllers control the Russian airspace, they decide who gets to fly and who doesn't. To take off you need to get Permission to take off from ATC.
How to get Permission to take off?: First you need granted PTL ( permission to leave), then you advert your Rank, name , call sign ( if you have one ), say your taking off, and state your Aircraft in that order. EX MAJ Dairy, call sign Whisky-5, requesting permission to take of, AC: Transport helicopter. At this point ATC will either grant or deny your permission to take off. If denied you are to shut down your engine ( if already started up ) and exit the aircraft. If ATC tells you to Standby, you must shut down your engine and await orders. You do not need Permission to take off during war. Also just because ATC might not be on the ATC class, doesnt mean that they are not active on ATC, if they have ATC in their name they are active ATC and you must still request permission from them to take off.
How to become ATC?: To become ATC you must be a SSGT ( Staff Sergeant/ E-6). You do not need to be a pilot in order to be ATC. You must be active in Teamspeak, you must be mature, and you must be active on the server. To become ATC, you must apply on the fourms.
ATC Codes
Code RED: If this code is adverted by a Controller, all friendly aircraft must land, this code means that the airspace is shutdown. This code could be called in situations like a Terror. Failure to comply will result in an arrest
Code GREEN: This code is called when the reason for the code red being called is delt with or over. Pilots may take off again but the must request permission to take off again
Code Spec-ops: This code means that any 177th pilots and anyone that donated for pilot must land and stay grounded, the sky at that point is for ADF pilots ONLY. 177th pilots cannot take off until code Green is called
Code Special Package: This code means that an active ADF pilot must RTB if they already left and pick up a HC member and fly them to a specific location. The HC member could be a VCMDR or a 4 star General.
Code Fire: This code will be called when a pilot either goes rouge, takes off without permission, or has opened fire on friendlies. This code means shoot down the helicopter or plane , if other pilots are in the air they must land in order to point out the rouge pilot.
